Human and plant listeners came together for a June 22 concert with the Barcelona Opera. While human listeners were allowed to listen to the livestream, plants were put into the audience and filled 2,292 seats at The Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona. The choice of the plants to fill the seats in the opera house and the fact that this performance became so viral due to this choice suggests that theater is a living and breathing ecosystem, and the life-breath of those in the audience are just as important as those who are performing.
